SPRINGFIELD – Georgia (Jordan) Williams, 89, of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, August 5, 2021. She passed away peacefully at Ruth's House Assisted Living in Longmeadow surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Springfield on October 8, 1931, the daughter of the late Costas and Anastasia (Mastroyin) Jordanides. She was raised in Springfield, graduated in 1947 from the High School of Commerce and had lived in Springfield for most of her life. As an Air Force wife, she traveled extensively with her husband and children throughout the United States and also two tours in Germany. She was employed for the Springfield School Department and was an assistant cook for over 20 years at Putnam High School. She previously worked as a saleslady at the former Forbes & Wallace Department Store in Springfield. She was a communicant of Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Springfield where she was a member of the Ladies Philoptochos and a longtime volunteer at Glendi. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and many friends. She leaves her three loving sons, Jordan R. Williams of Dunedin, FL, David A. Williams and his wife, Susan, of Southbridge, and Paul C. Williams of Longmeadow; her two cherished grandchildren, Madisen Williams and Kevin Williams; her dear nephew, Costas A. "Gus" Mathews; her dear niece, Kathy A. Mathews; her dear sister in law, Victoria Jordan; her dear nephew, Jason and her dear niece, Rebecca; and her many friends and extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her five dear brothers, Eugene, George, James, Dennis and John Jordan; and her dear sister, Rebecca Mathews. Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 2320 Main Street, Springfield, MA 01107. Her Burial will follow the service at Oak Grove Cemetery, 426 Bay Street, Springfield, MA 01109. Her funeral arrangements are entrusted to the St. Pierre - Phaneuf Springfield Chapels (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 22 St. George Road, Springfield, MA 01104.
