Darrin Scott Potorski, 55, of Peabody, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 3, 2021.He was the devoted husband of Jennifer (Greene) Potorski.
Born in Beverly and raised in Peabody, he was the son of the late Ronald R. and Helen S. (Solodiuk) Potorski. Following his graduation from high school he attended college for a time before joining the Army. Darrin devoted twenty one years to his country with his career in the Army as a Combat Engineer. He first met Jennifer at work, who also happened to be in the Army, and the couple married years later. Following his military career, he returned to the North Shore and became active in the PLAV (Polish Legion of American Veterans), the Witch City VFW Post 1524 and the Palmer Cove Yacht Club all of Salem. Darrin was also active in the former St. John the Baptist Church, now the St. John Paul II Shrine of Devine Mercy, also of Salem.
Darrin was devoted to his wife, family, extended family, country and church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his step-sons, Matthew P. Pholy of Grapevine, TX & Daniel J. Greene of Lowell, his uncles, Albert Potorski of Florida, John Potorski and his wife Theresa of Peabody & Walter Potorski of Salem and aunt, Anne McCarren of Glenn Mills, PA, as well as many cousins. He was predeceased by his sister Karen Potorski and grandparents, Marie and Alexander Potorski.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Mass of Christian Burial in the St. John Paul II Shrine of Devine Mercy, 28 St. Peter St., Salem on Monday, August 9, 2021 at 10:30 AM, followed by his Burial and Military Honors in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Visiting hours at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., [ Route 114 / 1-A } Salem, will be on Sunday, Aug. 8th from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.
