Paul L. Susi, age 76, of Mansfield, formerly of Walpole and Hyde Park passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the beloved husband of Mary Ellen (VanVoorhis) Susi, to whom he was wed on July 3, 1964.
Born in Boston, MA on February 4, 1945, he was a loving son of the late James A., Sr and Rose E. (Natale) Susi.
Paul grew up in the Hyde Park Neighborhood of Boston and was a graduate of Hyde Park High School. He grew up working in the family construction business, eventually owning his own company. He took great pride in his craft.
Paul was an avid auto-racing enthusiast. This was a life-long passion, whether it be driving, crewing or spectating his favorite modified division.
In addition to his beloved wife of fifty-seven years, he is survived by his devoted daughters: Christina M. LaCouture and her husband Michael of Norton, Diana L. Susi of Norton and Janine A. Tavares and her husband Shaun of Dartmouth. He was the cherished grandfather of Paul LaCouture of Bridgewater, Alicia Tavares O’Toole and her husband Mark of North Carolina, Nicole LaCouture of Plymouth and Keira Tavares of Dartmouth. He was the dear brother of the late Flora Susi, Arlene Susi and James A. Susi, II.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, July 31st from 3:00-5:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.
Services, along with burial at Fairview Cemetery in Hyde Park will be held privately at a later date.
