Lina (DiCenso) Cantelmi, age 90, of Medford passed away on Friday, July 23rd, at Mt. Auburn Hospital of Cambridge. Born and raised in Sulmona, L’Aquila, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Menotti and Iolanda (Susi) DiCenso. Lina loved to travel and visit family in Italy. She also loved to prepare food for family and friends. Lina enjoyed gardening and was a founding and active member of Donne 2000, a women’s club in the North End.

Lina was the beloved wife of 59 years to the late Pasquale Cantelmi, and the devoted mother of Elvira DiCenso and her husband Arcangelo of Sulmona, Italy, and Maria DiCenso and her husband Enrico of Medford. She was the loving grandmother of Angela, Raffaele and his wife Emily, Michael and his wife Angela, Christopher and his wife Vinjola, Enrico Jr. and Patrick, and the loving great grandmother of Giulia Lina, Luca, Ariana, Gabriella and Alissa. Lina was the dear sister of Yolanda O'Lenick and her late husband Robert, the late Frank DICenso and his late wife Onelia, the late Rocco DiCenso and his surviving wife Mary, the late Maria and Francesco DiCenso, and is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, July 28th, from 9 through 11 AM in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden.
