Franco Ricci passed away unexpectedly at the Massachusetts General Hospital on Saturday July 17th. He was 62. Born and raised in Sulmona, Abruzzo, Italy, he was the son of the late Vincenzo and Maria (DiCenso) Ricci. He came to the United States with his family as a young man and settled in Medford. A devoted and hardworking family man, Franco operated a popular pizza restaurant on Massachusetts Avenue in the Back Bay for many years. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending more time with his family and friends. He and his wife Alicia enjoyed travelling throughout the United States. Franco also enjoyed frequent visits to the Café del Mare where he spent time with his many friends.

The beloved husband of Alicia M. Munoz Ricci, Franco was a devoted father to Ernesto Florez of Medford. He was a dear uncle to Damian Ricci and Danielle O’Brien. Franco had one dear brother, Enzo, who passed away several years ago.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Wednesday, July 21 from 4 - 8 PM and again on Thursday morning at 9 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 AM in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden. Services will conclude with interment at Oak Grove Cemetery.
