Norma A. (Alongi) Monaco passed away peacefully at the Meadow View Nursing Home on Thursday morning, July 15, 2021. She was 91. Born in Boston’s North End, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Mercurio) Alongi, she was raised in Medford and lived there for her entire life. Norma enjoyed a long career with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, before her retirement. While one of her favorite activities was shopping, she was primarily devoted to her family. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and dear friend to many, she really enjoyed time with her family and had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The beloved wife of the late Albert Monaco and Rino Frankini, Norma was a devoted mother to Linda Pittorino and her husband F. John Pittorino of Medford. She was a loving grandmother to Lisa Cianci and her husband Bob, Carla Frost and her husband Scott, and the late John J. Pittorino and a loving great-grandmother of Michael and Marc Cianci and Johnny Pittorino, Jr. The dear sister of Joseph and Frank Alongi and the late Corinne DeCicco and Robert Alongi, Norma was the long-time companion of the late Jimmy Schena.

Norma’s funeral service and interment will be conducted privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
