Eleanor L. (Boisseau) Powers age 91 of Bridgewater and formerly of Brockton, died Thursday July 8, 2021 at the Boston Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in West Bridgewater. She was the devoted wife of the late Clement “Clem” Powers.
Eleanor was born and raised in Brockton a daughter of the late William and Lillian (LeDuc) Boisseau and was a 1947 graduate of Brockton High School. She also attended a secretarial school in Boston. For many years, Eleanor was a clerk in the assessor’s office at Brockton City Hall.
In her free time, Eleanor enjoyed solving puzzles and was an avid Red Sox fan. She was a longtime member of St. Ann and St. John parishes and attended church daily. Eleanor will be remembered as an unselfish, kind and giving woman who loved everyone. She always thought of others before herself.
Most importantly Eleanor loved spending time with her family and was proud of their accomplishments.
Eleanor was the mother of Kathleen Dowdall and her husband Robert of Osterville, MA; Michele Leach and her husband Kenneth of Kingston, David Powers and his partner Yuan Jia of Braintree, Marianne Burns and her partner Steven Joyce of Pembroke, Jeanne Powers of Middleboro, and Kevin Powers and his wife Susan of E. Bridgewater. She leaves six grandchildren Kenneth Leach, James Burns, Lauren (Burns) McGinn, Jake and Ryan Powers and Kevin Joyce and two great grandchildren Jayden Cataldo and Braden Joyce. She was the sister of the late Irene Cronin and Elaine Gurney.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (rte. 123) Brockton on Wednesday 9-10:30 am. Funeral Mass in St. John Church E. Bridgewater at 11am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery.
