Theresa J. (Corso) Bowes, lifelong resident of Somerville, passed away on Wednesday, July 7th. She was 99. Born and raised in Boston, she is the cherished daughter of the late Saverio and Anastasia (Mercurio) Corso.

Theresa loved to cook. She took great pride in all of her culinary masterpieces. Theresa was in the kitchen preparing meals daily, everything was made from scratch. Religiously every Thursday, Theresa’s family enjoyed a homemade sauce and spaghetti night. When Theresa was not cooking in her kitchen she enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, reading her many novels and crocheting.

Theresa was the beloved wife of the late Andrew J. Bowes. She was the devoted mother of Andrew D. Bowes and his late wife Janice, of Natick, and Richard M. Bowes, of Somerville. She was the loving grandma of Jamie Bowes and Michael, and their daughter Ava Elizabeth, of Framingham, and Christine Bowes and Scott and their daughter Adalyn Rose, of Cumberland, RI. She was the dear sister of the late John Corso, Joseph Corso, Angie Fazio, Margaret Musto and Mary Costa. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Thursday, July 15th at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Catherine Of Genoa Church, 179 Summer St., Somerville, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 – 8 PM. Service will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
