Obituary

Keliher, Marlene N. (Noble) of Sherborn, July 5, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Michael J. Keliher. Devoted mother of Susan N. Keliher of West Roxbury and the late Thomas E. Keliher of St. Paul, Minn. Loving grandmother of Michael J. Keliher (Ania), Andrew J. Keliher (Maggie), Matthew A. Keliher (Tina) and Katherine A. Keliher all of Minnesota.

Great grandmother of Tommy, Jackson, Hudson, Raegan and Remington.

Daughter of the late Nicholas and Margaret (Muffie) Noble. Loving sister of John M. Noble of DuBois, Penn. and 13 predeceased siblings. Loving aunt of many, many nephews and nieces. Mother-in-law of Grace (Schwab) Keliher.

Marlene grew up in DuBois, Penn., and she was the youngest of 15 children. She is a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School where she was salutatorian.

Marlene worked for the CIA in Germany, where she met and married her loving husband Michael. Later she moved to Washington D.C. with her family to work as the executive assistant to Allen Dulles, the Founding Director of the CIA.

Then, she moved to Scottsdale, Arizona and worked for Henry Luce, the Founder of Time magazine and his wife, the Ambassador Clare Boothe Luce.

She will be remembered for her intelligence, grace, sense of humor, generosity, and impeccable style. A fierce competitor, Marlene was an avid bridge player winning several national tournaments. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, playing tennis, and spending time with friends.

Above all else, Marlene loved her family.

A private Funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa Church, Sherborn followed by a private interment in Pine Hill Cemetery, Sherborn. In lieu of flowers please send contributions to National Tay-Sachs & Allied Diseases - www.ntsad.org, where her daughter Susan works to support families affected by rare, fatal genetic diseases and research for effective treatments.
