KINDAMO Joan M. (Quinn) Longtime resident of West Roxbury formerly of Brookline, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Joseph F. Kindamo. Devoted mother of AnnMarie and Jennifer Kindamo both of West Roxbury. Sister of the late James and Paul Quinn.
Joan was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, Brookline and Regis College, Weston. She later received her Masters in Education. Joan taught third grade for many years in the Rockland Public School System until she married and had her first child. She then took time off to raise her children. When she learned that her oldest child had special needs, she became an administrator in the Boston Public School System for special education. She spent her life tirelessly fighting for the needs and happiness of not only her daughter AnnMarie but for all those with special needs, sitting on the boards of many organizations. Joan’s incredible dedication and endless love for her daughters and family was an inspiration to all and has left a void that can never be filled. She will be greatly missed.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa of Avila Church, West Roxbury on Thursday, July 8th at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited, please go directly to the church. Visiting hours omitted. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
