Catherine L. Tangusso, of Somerville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 27, 2021. She was 98. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul L. Tangusso. Born in Somerville she was one of six children of Italian immigrants, Frank and Lillian (Birte) Mirabelli.

Catherine was a lifelong resident of Somerville and worked for over thirty years with the Ames Safety Envelope Co. of Somerville, MA. Over the years Catherine enjoyed vacationing at Wells Beach, Maine, as well as spending time reading her favorite novels, nights out dancing with her late husband, prior to his passing in 2012, and spending time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

In addition to her late husband and parents, Catherine is predeceased by her brothers, Salvatore, Frank and Domenic Mirabelli. She is survived by her sons; Richard Tangusso of Somerville, and Paul Tangusso and his wife Maria of Milford. She was the cherished sister of Theresa Giunta of Medford and Sonny Mirabelli of Tewksbury. She is further survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held from the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Saturday, July 3rd, at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Catherine's memory to the Massachusetts General Hospital, Development Office, 165 Cambridge St., Suite 600, Boston, MA 02114.
