Peg passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on June 2, 2021. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Dr. William J. Schmidt. Daughter of the late Mary & Larry Horgan. Loving and caring mother of Joseph McGillicuddy and his wife Kate of Southbury, CT., Anne Marie and her husband Philip DeCesar of Acton, Michael McGillicuddy and his fiancé Joanie McLean of Franklin, Tricia & her husband Dan Conley of West Roxbury, John McGillicuddy & his wife Cindy of Palm Harbor, FL, Marianne & her husband Jack Wright of Canton, Charles and Brian McGillicuddy of West Roxbury. Grandmother/Nana Peg to Jennifer, Jim D, Mike D, Sean, Lauren, Bridget, Jim C, Killeen, Christine, Michael M, Jake, Connor, Lorena, Gerardo, Cindy, and Miah and Great-grandmother to Logan, Gavin, Luciana, and Lorenzo. Dear friend and cousin to the late Anne Casey and many extended family members. Peg lived a full and rewarding life - full as so many lives are with their shares of heart aches and joys. She learned to be a woman true to herself and a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and good friend to many. She had a listening ear and an open heart. Peg was an inveterate reader & lover of the printed word. Peg was blessed with a strong faith and found great comfort in the love of the Blessed Mother. Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre St. WEST ROXBURY, Monday, June 7th at 8:30 am, followed by a Funeral Mass in The Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help “Mission Church” at 10 o’clock. Visiting hours Sunday 3-7 pm. Relatives and friends invited.
