4/18/2021

Nelida E. (D’Keini) DiFabio, of Stoneham, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 18th after celebrating her 88th birthday with family. She was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina and relocated to the United States in 1964 with her husband and two children, Liliana and Louie. She was the daughter of the late Yousef (Jose) Abrahim and Eustaquia (Segui) D'Keini.

Nelida was the beloved wife of the late Giuseppe “Joseph” DiFabio. She was the devoted mother of Dr. Liliana DiFabio of Boston, Louie DiFabio and his wife Teresa of Revere, and Alex DiFabio of Stoneham. She was the Nonni of Anthony DiFabio and his fiancée Michelle Navarro of Nashua, NH, Marc DiFabio and his wife Melissa of Georgetown, Nicolas DiFabio and Daria Mahoney of Peabody, and Cristina (DiFabio) Carrera and her husband Abner of Groveland. She was the great grandmother of Leo Salvatore and Antonio Nicolas DiFabio. She was the dear sister of Emilia Rivarola, Josefa Solari both of Argentina, and the late Emilio D’Keini.

Nelida was a woman of strong faith who instilled in her children how important their relationship with Jesus really was and always reminded them to do the right thing when it came to their faith. Nelida watched mass and prayed the rosary daily and would often say to her family that she was ready to be embraced by Jesus and knew that He loved her very much.

Nelida loved her family more than anything else in this world. She was a loving wife for over 61 years, a caring sister, an incredible mother and the best Nonni any grandchild could ever have. We were blessed to have her for as long as we did. She was a talented and amazing woman in every respect. We will cherish her memory in our hearts for the rest of our lives.

Nelida’s funeral Mass will be held in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield, on Tuesday, April 27th, at 10AM. Visiting hours have been respectfully omitted and interment will be private. Social distancing protocols will be in place during mass and masks are mandatory.

In lieu of flowers, Nelida’s family requests memorial donations be sent to Catholic TV, PO Box 9196, 34 Chestnut St., Watertown, MA 02471.
