Akhian, Takouhie ( Kayayan ) of Watertown, April 11, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Hovannes Akhian. Devoted mother of Tony Akhian and his wife Nano, Nalalie Melkonian and her husband Mark, George Akhian and his wife Ani and Vahe Akhian and his wife Zepure. Cherished grandmother of Aleena, Chantal, Michael, Tamar, Hovig and Nicole. Adored great grandmother of Robert, Allen and Jack Ozcan. Loving sister of the late Mary Sahagian and Manoog Kayayan. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Takouhie was a dedicated mother first and foremost. After the loss of her husband in Lebanon at the age of 50 she came to America to give her children a better life setting aside her needs. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as a grandmother. She loved to cook and kept an immaculate house. “Mom, you have given us so much and asked for so little in return. Thank you for always being there for us. You were the best mother and grandmother anyone could have asked for."
Funeral service at Holy Cross Armenian Catholic Church, 200 Lexington Street, Belmont on Thursday, April 15 at 11:00 a.m. Visiting hours will be held in the Church Sanctuary on Thursday morning from 10 - 11 a.m., immediately prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Holy Cross Armenian Catholic Church, Belmont. Due to the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic, current public health and safety measures will be followed. Social Distancing and facemasks will be required for everyone’s safety.
