Obituary

PIACENTINI, Piero (Peter) On April 8,, 2021, passed away peacefully at the age of 89. Piero was born on January 1, 1932 to Clementina and Ettore Piacentini in Corsica, France, and he grew up with his two brothers and his sister in Boccassuolo, Italy. Piero immigrated to the United States in 1955, where he met and married Louisa Niccoli of Wellesley on November 10, 1957, and they raised one daughter, Anne Piacentini-McGill of Natick.

Piero worked as a foreman for the Wellesley Public Works Department for 35 years and was a very sociable man loved by all his family, friends, and neighbors. His hobbies included landscaping, hunting, and fishing, and he was an avid member of several sporting clubs – Fin, Fur, and Feather, Woburn Sportsmen’s Association, Minute Man Sportsman’s Club, and the Italo American Educational Club in Wellesley. Piero was proud of his Italian heritage, and he returned to Italy many times with his wife, daughter, and grandchildren to visit his relatives.

Piero is preceded in death by his mother and father Clementina and Ettore Piacentini, his brother Ezio Piacentini, his brother-in-law Richard Lizotte, and his brother- and sister-in-law John and Jennie Resteghini. Piero is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Louisa, his daughter Anne Piacentini-McGill and son-in-law Robert Scott McGill, his sister Daria Marcellini and brother Benito Piacentini, his brother-in-law Joseph Niccoli and sister-in-law Mary Lizotte, his grandchildren Melissa McGill-Coelho and her husband Michael Coelho, Kimberly McGill Rebula and her husband Thomas Rebula, and Matthew McGill, and his great-grandchildren David and Nathan Coelho, and Ronan Rebula.

Visiting hours at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., (Rt.16) Wellesley, on Friday April 16 from 9-10:30am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Followed by a private Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Wellesley. Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Needham.
