Dorothea L. (Breen) Kiander, age 75, of Norton, passed away in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, April 7, 2021. She was the beloved wife of Charles J. Kiander, Jr., to whom she was wed for over fifty-five years.
Born in Boston, MA on October 15, 1945, she was a loving daughter of the late Daniel and Evelyn (Patnode) Breen.
Dotty grew up in Quincy and was a graduate of North Quincy High School. She had made her home in Norton for the past forty-seven years and was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Norton.
A dedicated homemaker to her adoring family, Mrs. Kiander was a familiar face at the former Norton Hotdog Stand in the center of town; where she always greeted the customers, who frequented the stand, with a big smile and always a good word. She also demonstrated her kindness by doing housecleaning for others.
Her love for family was unconditional and Dotty’s hobbies included shopping and listening to music performed by Josh Groban.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her devoted children: Keith G. Kiander of Raynham, Kelly M. Kiander of Norton, Eric C. Kiander and his wife Hillary of Chicago and Erin P. Leavitt and her husband Jay of Taunton. She was the cherished and treasured grandmother of Krystal, Justin, Colin, Declan and Caiden. She was the dear sister of Patricia Parkhurst of Carver and the late Daniel Breen, Katherine Bouve, Charles Breen, and is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews.
Services will be held privately and visiting hours are omitted.
