Obituary

Morrow, Joseph John of Wellesley, MA, formerly of Bloomfield Hills, MI, age 54, passed away peacefully, most fittingly during the Spring Equinox, March 21, 2021.

On May 14, 1990, Joe and his high school sweetheart, Carol (Almeda), eloped in Ann Arbor, MI, on the seventh anniversary of the first day that they met. They have four beautiful children, all of whom have graduated from or are currently attending Wellesley High School: Madeleine (with partner Katie Turner), Troy, Caroline, and Liam. Another essential member of his immediate family is Lila, Joe’s beloved canine companion.

Joe is also survived by his brothers Steven Morrow (of Canton, MA) and David Morrow (of Las Vegas, NV), his sister-in-law Kelly Morrow (of Las Vegas, NV), his mother Theresa Herrgott (of Berkley, MI), and his father Thomas Morrow (of Rochester Hills, MI).

An accomplished athlete, Joe enjoyed working out, biking, swimming, and running. He also loved the outdoors – hiking, camping, snorkeling, and body surfing in the Caribbean waters are some of the many outdoor activities to which he introduced his children. But Joe’s most beloved passion was on the golf course where he was one with nature and with the golf ball. It was his place of serenity.

Joe attended Cranbrook School in Bloomfield Hills, MI. He then attended the University of Michigan (Go Blue!), where he played varsity baseball as catcher and earned his B.A. Joe continued his education at the University of Chicago, where he earned a dual JD/MBA degree.

Joe began his professional career at McKinsey & Company, then at AT Kearney as a management consultant in the financial services sector. Joe spent the last half of his career advising and leading corporations ranging in size from Fortune 500 companies to venture-backed startups to small, privately held entrepreneurial ventures.

Visitation at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St, Wellesley, MA 02482, on Friday, March 26, from 4-8 pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. A private funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 27, at 12:00P. In place of flowers, please consider donating in Joe’s memory to Cranbrook Schools Horizon Upward Bounds (HUB), Development Office, P.O. Box 801, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48303-0801
