Obituary

Carol A. Van Pelt, 74, of Oneida Street, Johnston passed away on March 6th. She was the wife of Dorsey E. Van Pelt. They had been married for 55 years.

She was born in Pawtucket, the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Oldfield) Miller. She lived in Johnston for 7 years and previously lived in Concord, NC, Land O Lakes, Florida, and Smithfield. Over the years, Carol always felt that Rhode Island was the place she felt most at home.

Carol was a school bus driver in Smithfield and worked for multiple bus companies. Most of all, she was happiest in her role as a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Besides her husband, she leaves her sons, Randy E. Van Pelt and his wife Diane of North Smithfield, Gregory G. Van Pelt of Glocester, Jeffrey E. Van Pelt of North Providence, and Wayne Hall of Sterling, CT. She leaves a brother, Lawrence Miller and his wife Karen of Lincoln. She was the grandmother of Amanda Van Pelt, Brian Van Pelt, Gabrielle Hall, Sebastian Hall, Chelsea DiGiacomo, Amanda Verdoia and Ashley Cook. She was the great-grandmother of Noah, Logan, Macey, JD, Jackson, Dominic, Luca, Jordan, Tyler and Addison.

Her funeral will be private
