Obituary

Timothy A. Gaussiran, 81, of Ventura, passed away from COVID-19.
His goal in life was to always bring joy into someone's day, a joke, a smile, a wave. Tim had a beautiful and kind soul.
After a 3 week battle, his favorite grandmother, Mim, and his in-laws: Pat, Pauline, and Pat Jr., preceding him, gently took his hand to peacefully crossover to meet his maker.
Tim was an avid football fan. He went naturally on Superbowl Sunday, 2/7/21 at 2 pm to claim his 50 yard line front row seat.
From the time he met Barbara at FSU, he knew what love and family was all about. Their life together was filled with great love and so much laughter. They started a family that grew and grew.
The family loved to travel, visiting all the landmarks in the Washington, DC area and all parts of the USA.
He loved his family beyond anything else. He video taped and photographed every get together to hold dear the memories we made.
He taught valuable lessons to his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids but mostly how to love and laugh. One of his favorite quotes was "stop and listen, the world and it's people have a lot to teach us." He was the "joke man" and the "quote man" for ALL!
Tim spent 20 years with Barbara at 1st Sundays in the Park, and other street fairs. You could find his Pen & Ink drawings, including The Mission, The Pier, The Courthouse, trains and so many other local landmarks. Hundreds of people purchased his art to cherish. This brought him a great sense of fulfillment and joy. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to meet him.
He worked for the Federal government, Dept of Defense, as a Visual Information Specialist/technical illustrator in Washington, DC from 1966-1980, then NAS-Pt. Mugu from 1980-1996. Then, he enjoyed over 25 years retirement.
Tim's memory will be held dear by Barbara, his wife of 60 years; his daughter, Janet (Robert) Hanley, of CA; his sons: Michael Gaussiran, of CA, and Daniel (JoAnn) Gaussiran, of WA; his 3 grandchildren: Jessica (Jorge) Casique, of CA, Kevin (Olivia) Hanley, of OR, Amanda (Anthony) Nevarez, of WY; his 3 great grandchildren: Aliza, Anthony Jr., and Andreas "Dre" and more to come; his brothers: Charles Gaussiran, of FL, and Thomas Gaussiran, of TX.
Many thanks to the nurses and doctors at CMH for their expertise and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift of remembrance to Casa de Vida at The Ventura Missionary Church, 500 High Point Drive, Ventura, CA 93003.
