Elizabeth A. “Bette” (Eddleston) Precourt, age 77, a lifelong resident of Norton, passed away, surrounded by her adoring family, on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham. She was the beloved wife of Wilfrid E. “Bud” Precourt, to whom she was wed for fifty-six years.

Born in Attleboro, MA on May 27, 1943, she was a loving daughter of the late Robert N. and Ruby A. (Scott) Eddleston.

Bette grew up in Norton and was a 1961 graduate of Norton High School. Prior to retiring, she had worked as a secretary at J & R Investments under the late Joseph Fernandes. She was previously employed at the former Wetherell Paint Store, a company owned by her brother in the Chartley section of town.

Mrs. Precourt’s family was truly the focal point of her life and always came first. She especially loved and was proud of being a grandmother and great grandmother and was anticipating the birth of her eighteenth great grandchild. Her hobbies included gardening, camping, shopping, traveling and spending quality time at Falmouth and Plymouth beaches.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her devoted children: Elizabeth Leonard and her husband Jeff of Norton, Kristin Schleicher and her husband Kevin of Norton, Cherilyn Valentino and her husband Ernie of Norton, Shannon Pearson and her husband Rob of Maine, Shawn Precourt and his wife Olga of Norton and Jaime Robbins and her husband Jason of Norton. She was the dear sister of Robert Eddleston, Sr. and his wife Janice of Norton, and is also survived by her cherished 19 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, February 16th from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton.

Her Funeral Mass will be held privately for family members only on Wednesday, February 17th at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, Norton. Private burial will follow at the Norton Center Cemetery in Norton.

Bette’s Funeral Mass will be livestreamed on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. and can be viewed on Facebook at Saint Mary’s Church, Norton.
