Obituary

Adele J. (Castignetti) Doucette, age 71, of Brockton, died peacefully at her home February 5, 2021. Adele was the loving wife for 50 years of Roger P. Doucette. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Livio A. and Katherine (Alberto) Castignetti. Raised in Braintree, she was a 1967 graduate of Braintree High School. She was an Air Force wife who supported her husband wonderfully under difficult conditions while he served.

Adele was devoted to her family and took great joy in raising her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted lifelong Red Sox fan and could chat about the games and roster with the best of them, especially enjoying Red Sox talks with her grandsons. Quietly, she would also help everyone she could because that was the way of her heart.

Adele was the mother of George P. and his wife Heather of Whitman, Lee J. and his wife Lisa of East Bridgewater, Roger J. and his wife Michelle of South Weymouth and James C. Doucette of Brockton; grandmother of Emma, Brody, Jake, Alexis, Logan, Evan and Sienna Doucette and sister of Gerald J. Castignetti of Canton and the late Maria Castignetti. Her love for all of them was unending.

Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Tuesday, February 9, from 9-11am. A Funeral Service will be held at 11am followed by burial in Pine Hill Cemetery. Following COVID guidelines, masks must be worn and social distancing observed in the funeral home with a maximum of 40 people in the funeral home at any one time.

The family would like to mention their Inexpressible gratitude to Adele’s loving family of caregivers Maria Monteiro, Gina Monteiro, and Ines Vieira; her wonderful, constant friends George, Tom, Mike, Diane, Annie, Sandra, and Audrey and the members of the Brockton Alzheimer’s Caregivers Support Group. Our heartfelt thanks for helping each other through these seemingly unending difficult times.

Donations in Adele’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, American Parkinson Disease Association or Old Colony Elder Services.
