Obituary

Anthony J. “Tony” Morra, 78, of Smithfield, died Saturday January 23rd in Fatima Hospital, North Providence. He was the husband of Ann (Pirolli) Morra. They had been married for fifty-eight years.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Joseph and Rita (Vales) Morra. He had lived in the Greenville section of Smithfield for 7 years previously living in Johnston. Tony was a Laborer with the State of Rhode Island, Department, DEM, Parks and Recreation for twenty years before retiring in 2007.

Tony loved fishing, softball and bowling. He was an avid New York Yankee and New York Giants fan. He loved playing in the backyard with his dog Max.

Besides his wife he leaves his daughter, Lisa Antonaccio and her husband John of West Warwick, his son Anthony J. Morra, Jr. of Greenville, his grandchildren, Rebecca Morra of Pawtucket and Jared Morra of Greenville. He was the brother of Joseph Morra of Cranston and Frederick Morra and his wife Rosemarie of Lincoln. He was the brother-in-law of the late Barbara Morra.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday January 30th at 10am in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Atwood Avenue, Johnston, RI 02919. Due to Covid 19 restrictions seating is limited to 75 people during Mass and use of face masks and social distancing will be required. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to St. Robert Bellarmine Church.
