Madeleine B. (Perra) Poirier, age 103, a lifelong resident of Taunton, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth. She was the beloved wife of the late Rene A. Poirier, who died on July 15, 1980.
Born in Taunton, MA on September 23, 1917, she was a loving daughter of the late Pacifique and Henrietta (Menard) Perra.
Madeleine grew up in Taunton, was a graduate of Taunton High School and attended Bristol Business College. Prior to retiring, she had worked as a Medical Secretary for Dr. David Faber.
Mrs. Poirier was a communicant of Saint Jude the Apostle Church, the former Saint Jacques Church in Taunton. She loved spending time with her adoring family and her hobbies included reading, gardening and cooking.
She is survived by her devoted children: Armand Poirier of Nashua, NH, Marie Ferris and her husband Richard of Wareham, Annette O’Reilly of Assonet, Robert Poirier and his wife Maryann of Assonet, Suzanne Arguin and her husband Peter of Nashua, NH and Paul Poirier and his wife Donna of Taunton. She was the dear sister of the late Florence Briggs, Henry Perra, Wilfred Perra, Leon Perra, Alice St Pierre, Georgianna Perra, Eva Dion and Alfred Perra. She is also survived by her cherished 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Services, along with burial at Saint Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton will be held privately at a later date.
