Michael D. Prew of Clinton, formerly of Winthrop, passed away at home on January 17, 2021. He was 61 years old. Michael was the beloved husband of Laurie J. (Nalewajko) Prew. Born in Winthrop, Michael was the cherished son of Marjorie A. (Grady) Prew and the late Robert W. Prew of Winthrop.
Michael loved watching and cheering on the local professional sports teams including the Red Sox, Bruins and Patriots. He enjoyed many outdoor sporting activities including camping, skiing, golfing and boating. Michael liked playing pool and sitting down with friends in Clinton and playing a good game of cards.
Michael was the devoted father of Danielle M. Ross and her husband Seth and Christopher M. Prew all of Winthrop. He was the adored grandfather of Avery, Brayden and Brielle Ross. Michael was the dear brother of Dianne Silverio and her husband Gerard of Stoneham, Robert Prew and his wife Paula of Lynnfield, Carolyn Rao and her husband Attilio of Saugus, Dennis Prew and his wife Sole of Winthrop, Denise Lemieux and her husband Frank of Marshfield, Susan Prew of Winthrop and Cynthia Bellino and her husband Paul of Tewksbury. He was also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Michael’s funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St. Winthrop on Saturday, January 23 at 11:30AM. Please go directly to church. Current Covid-19 guidelines must be followed inside the church and masks must be worn.
