TAUNTON…Carol A. (Finneran) Ryan, 80, of Taunton passed away January 2, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford. She was the beloved wife of Charles F. Ryan Jr. for nearly 56 years. Born in Boston, she was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Sheingold) Finneran and sister of the late Robert Finneran. Affectionately known by her family as “Nan”. Carol enjoyed reading, cooking, baking and daily walks with a friend and her grandchildren searching for pennies! Nan loved spending time with her family, friends and “her” grandpuppies. Nan also enjoyed vacationing with her family and grandchildren on the Cape and in Florida. Along with her husband, survivors include her devoted daughters: Susan Ryan Abbott and her husband Steven of East Freetown and Beverly Ryan-Sylvia and her husband Bill of Boca Raton, FL; her “favorite” son: Charles J. Ryan and his wife Kathy of Taunton; and her former daughter-in-law Tammy Reynolds of Lakeville. She also leaves behind her adored grandchildren that she shared endless memories with: Justin, Matthew and his wife Gina and Joseph Ryan, Madison and Sydney Abbott, Cameron and Jake Sylvia; and a soon to be great grandson, Theo Ryan. The family deeply believes “Nan” will continue to love and watch over each of them and stay connected through her own unique signs. In accordance with her wishes, a private burial and memorial service will be held at a later date.
