Obituary

Robert “Bob” Hamilton Dudley, 91, of Fillmore, CA, passed away at his home on December 29, 2020. Bob was born in Ventura on March 5, 1929, the youngest of four children born to Harold and Myrtle Dudley. Bob graduated from the University of California at Davis with a BS in Agricultural Economics. A lifelong citrus and avocado farmer in Fillmore, Bob was active and respected in the community and a faithful church member, serving as elder and promoting missionary work at churches in Fillmore and Santa Paula. He served as President of Farm Bureau of Ventura County 1965-66, and on boards of Saticoy Lemon Association, Fillmore Insectary, San Cayetano Mutual Water Company, and the Little Red Schoolhouse. He was also recognized for his service to Future Farmers of America and F & P Growers Association. Bob’s faith in Christ was lived out daily, and he impacted many people, old and young, through his commitment to living for the Lord and encouraging others to do the same. He was also proud of his service in the Marines during the Korean war; Semper Fi was a life motto for him. Bob was preceded in death by his dear wife Diane in 1987. He is survived by his three daughters, Kristina Zabala (Mitch), Karen Griffith (Gary), and Susan Dudley; five grandchildren, Kimberly, Jennifer, Stephen, David, and Grayson; and four great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Naomi, Malachi, and Ethan.
Private services will be held by the family. Gifts in celebration of Bob’s life may be given to Santa Paula Presbyterian Church’s missions fund.
His was a life well-lived!
