Obituary

Fallon, Joan (Dion), 84, of Wellesley and Millis, MA died December 9th surrounded by her beloved daughters.

Joan was born in New York City and grew up in North Adams, MA. She was a devoted mother to Donna Levy and her husband Steven Levy of Warwick, RI, Lynn Wilson and her husband Dr. Thomas Wilson of Birmingham, AL, Felicia Sisk and her husband Brian Sisk of Millis, MA and Kim Vandall and her husband Mike Vandall of Tampa, FL. She will be dearly missed by her eleven grandchildren, Brian and Michael Levy, Fallon, Thomas and Kathleen Wilson, Patrick, Griffin and Grace Sisk, Morgan, Dylan and Haley Vandall and by her adored grand dogs, Fenway, Sadie, Bleau, Emmy Lou, and Baxter.

Joan was a free spirit. She started her career as a stewardess, which sparked her love for traveling and exploration. Her early twenties were spent traveling solo across Europe, making countless memories before she ‘landed’ in Boston. It was here that she met her husband Griffin S. Fallon Jr. and after his unrelenting begging for a date, she acquiesced and ended up falling in love. They were married in 1962.

Joan exuded both elegance and grace. She spread love to all, humans and animals alike, and had the power to light up every room she entered. She never met a stranger and her warm, magnetic personality was a draw to everyone she met. She had a strong faith and spread the love of God among many. She radiated style and flair along with intelligence; she was an avid reader, an accomplished poet, and a Shang Hai master.

Above all, she had a profound love for her family. She was happiest when she was with her girls, attending her “mimosa club weekends” with her daughters in Boston, Cape Cod, and FL.

We will remember our Mother for her beautiful smile, quick wit, fierce love for her family, and her unwavering faith.

“Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and we will rejoice, and no one will take away our joy.”  John 16:22

A Memorial Service will be held at St. John The Evangelist Church together with a celebration of life, in Wellesley MA in the coming spring/summer (post Covid). Updates and online guestbook will be posted at: gfdoherty.com
