Kenneth J. "Big Ken" Luongo
12/6/2020

Kenneth J. Luongo, of Medford, passed away on Sunday, December 6th. He was 65. Born in Boston, he was the cherished son of the late Massimino and Marie (Gulla) Luongo. Ken was a graduate of Medford High School and Bunker Hill Community College. Ken enjoyed working side by side with his Uncle Ralph selling produce on their family push carts that were located on Blackstone St., in Boston.

Ken was given the nick name “Big Ken” due to his larger than life personality that no one could miss; a huge heart that was genuine and sincere even though sometimes it was shown with tough love. If you were to look up the meaning of a true soul Ken’s name would be listed first and in bold print.

Ken was a virtuous man and had a spirit made of gold. He had a caring disposition, and helped anyone in need. He would give you the shirt on his back, even if it meant that he would go without. Ken loved baseball and enjoyed being an umpire for the local little league team. He was a dedicated member of our community and he will be greatly missed. Ken enjoyed the holiday season and invited those who were alone to join him at his family gatherings. Ken knew the true meaning of the holidays. An avid hunter, he loved to spend time outdoors always looking for that one perfect shot.

Ken was the devoted father of Kenneth M. Luongo and his significant other Lindsay Monteforte of Lowell, and Michelle Fico. He was the dear brother of Karen Bove and her husband Peter, and Richard Luongo and his wife Lisa. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
