Obituary

Dorothy E. McNulty, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2020 in Camarillo at the age of 102 after a brief illness. Dorothy was born in Ohio to Richard and Catherine Stewart on October 22, 1918. She overcame hardship as a young girl to become the remarkable woman she was---a warm, generous and strong woman and, most of all, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
She was an avid reader and belonged to several Leisure Village book and reading clubs and was always generous with her time and contributions. She earned a B.A. from UC Santa Barbara and was a longtime member of MENSA.
Dorothy is survived by seven children: Joseph Hudak, Jr and his wife Deborah Hudak, Mary Costello, Jeanne Stewart, Elizabeth Scanlan and her husband William Scanlan, Laura Schmoll and her husband William Schmoll, Mary Jo McNulty and Kathy McNulty. Also surviving her are sixteen grandchildren as well as many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her brother, Richard Stewart Jr. and his wife Helen Stewart.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dean S. McNulty, and two children, James Hudak and Sean McNulty.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Catholic Charities, 25 N Las Posas Road, Camarillo, CA 93010.
The Hudak/McNulty family is very grateful for the loving care provided Dorothy during her last years by kind and competent caregivers: Lilia Gorum and Grace Tan and the staff at Edna’s Residential Home in Camarillo.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Assumption, 3175 Telegraph Road, Ventura, CA 93003 on Friday, November 27, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. with Father Leon officiating. Burial immediately following Mass will be at Ivy Lawn Cemetery, 5400 Valentine Road, Ventura, CA.
Visiting hours will be held earlier in the day at the BOYKO & REARDON TELEGRAPH ROAD MORTUARY & CREMATION, 15 Teloma Dr., Ventura, CA 93003 on Friday, November 27 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. COVID 19 protocols of ten people per hour will be observed.
Rosary will also be at Boyko & Reardon from 12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. prior to funeral services at Our Lady of Assumption.
