Mary T. D'Elia

Mary T. D'Elia, of Munising, MI and a former longtime resident of Woburn passed away peacefully Thursday morning, September 17, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph V. D'Elia. Born in Woburn she was the only child of the late Joseph and Theresa (Doherty) Corcoran.

Mary was a graduate of Woburn High School and worked at Atlantic Gelatin for a period of time before she met her soon to be husband Ralph in 1955. Together they raised their six children here in Woburn. Mary was devoted to her family and her faith. She was very active for many years in the church and activities of St. Anthony Parish in North Woburn. She was a wonderful baker and her chocolate chip cookies were legendary in the neighborhood. Together, Mary and Ralph loved to square dance and spent their weekends with friends dancing with the Baldwin Apple Squares. They loved to dance and during their retirement enjoyed week long activities and many cruises with friends and family.

Eleven years ago following the death of Ralph, Mary moved to the Upper Peninsula and enjoyed her family time in Munising, Michigan. There she was a faithful member of Sacred Heart church. Her strong Catholic faith was integral to her life and even as her memory faded, she was able to say her prayers.

In addition to her late husband Ralph, Mary is sadly preceded in death by her daughter, the late Mary Ann D'Elia. She is survived by her children; Michael D'Elia and his wife Lee of Munising, MI, Claire Lambert of Chelmsford, Paul D'Elia and his wife Sharon, John D'Elia and his wife Wendy, and Ralph D'Elia all of Woburn. Also survived by eleven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Monday, September 29th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main St., Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, from 2 to 4 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Winchester. All attending must wear a face mask and adhere to social distancing protocols.
