STURBRIDGE – Janet A. (King) Riley, 70, of Sturbridge, was Called Safely Home on Friday, September 4, 2020. She passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Springfield on April 2, 1950, a beloved daughter of the late William G. King, Sr. and Joyce M. (Barnes) King. She was raised and educated in Springfield and had moved to Chicopee in 1970. She later moved to Sturbridge in 1983 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was last employed as a security officer at Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket, CT and had previously worked at the Digital Corporation in Shrewsbury. During her leisure time, she enjoyed gardening and crossword puzzles. She was an avid Springfield Thunderbirds hockey fan and enjoyed many games with her daughter and grandsons. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, Joseph P. Riley. They were married on February 7, 1970 in Springfield and were blessed with over 50 years of happiness together. She also leaves her three loving children, Michael J. Riley of Southbridge, Fred A. Riley of Hollywood, Florida and Jennifer A. Olson of Sturbridge; her two cherished grandsons, Caleb M. Olson and Callen M. Olson; her dear brother, Craig King and his wife, Donna, of Springfield; his dear sister, Carol Scott of Springfield; her two dear brothers-in-law, Michael F. Riley and his wife, Marla, of Eugene, Oregon and Richard J. Riley and his wife, Cathy, of Westfield; her three dear sisters-in-law, Judith A. “Judi” Ringenbach of Chicopee, Mary Ellen Riley of Eugene, Oregon and Cathy M. Laflamme and her husband, Michael, of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Riley and King families. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her dear brother, William G. King, Jr.; and her dear brother-in-law, Adrian M. “Skip” Ringenbach. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Funeral Service on Friday, September 18, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (please note that masks are required and social distancing must be observed). Her funeral arrangements are entrusted to the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
