James J. "Jimmy" Lagoy

CHICOPEE – James J. “Jimmy” Lagoy, 64, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, September 1, 2020. He passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Plattsburg, New York on December 2, 1955, a beloved son of the late Charles H. and Alice M. (Eason) Lagoy. He was raised in Plattsburg and later in Holyoke, attended Holyoke schools and had moved to Aldenville many years ago. He was employed as a machinist at the former A.G. Spaldings in Chicopee. During his leisure time, he loved fishing and was a member of the Chicopee Sportsmen’s Club. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends. He leaves his two loving sisters, Joann M. Landry and Nancy A. Bogdanovich and her husband, Alan, all of Chicopee; his three loving brothers, David G. Lagoy of Chicopee, Paul L. Lagoy and his wife, Sue, of Easthampton and Charles H. Lagoy and his wife, Vivian, of Holyoke; his cherished nephew and two nieces, Jimmy Darsch, Anya Bogdanovich and Sherry Pafumi, all of Chicopee; his best friend, Bill Hudson of Springfield; and his many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving brother-in-law, Daniel A. “Danny” Landry who was Called Home on December 28, 2019. His family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. which will be followed by a Prayer Service at 11 a.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 10 a.m.). The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His Burial will follow the Prayer Service at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (please note that masks are required, social distancing must be observed and funeral home capacity is limited due to state regulations).
