Joyce A. (Cote) Naginewicz

CHICOPEE – Joyce A. (Cote) Naginewicz, 74, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, August 31, 2020. She passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born in Holyoke on July 14, 1946, a beloved daughter of the late Gerald G. and Lucienne J. (Laramee) Cote. She was raised in South Hadley, graduated from South Hadley High School and had lived in South Hadley for many years before moving to Chicopee in 2001. She was last employed as a store manager for Marshall’s Department Stores in Springfield and Hadley. Previously, she had worked at the former Bradlees and Two Guys Department Stores both in Chicopee. She was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. During her leisure time, she enjoyed walking, playing cards and trying her luck at many local bingo games. She also loved watching game shows including her favorites, Cash Cab, Let’s Make a Deal and The Price is Right. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Francis A. “Frank” Naginewicz who was Called Home on June 15, 2019. She leaves her two loving devoted daughters, Kimberly A. Duval and her husband, Paul, and Brenda J. Naginewicz, all of Chicopee; her two dear brothers, Roy Cote and his wife, Karen, and Gerald Cote and his companion, Sandy, all of Belchertown; her dear brother-in-law, Robert Naginewicz of Chicopee; her dear sister-in-law, Elaine Ciarcia and her husband, Jerry, of Port Charlotte, FL; her dear former sister-in-law and good friend, Gale Cook of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, numerous friends, caring neighbors; and extended members of the Naginewicz and Cote families. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Prayer Service on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Saint Rose Cemetery, 226 Granby Road, (Route 202), South Hadley, MA 01075, (please note that masks are required and social distancing must be observed). There are no visiting hours at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
