Michael L. Scalfani

Michael L. Scalfani, a resident of Wilmington for 45 years formerly of Medford, passed away peacefully at the Advinia Care Nursing Facility in Wilmington, August 2, 2020. He was 80 years of age. Michael was the beloved husband of Carol A. (Boselli-Medeiros) Scalfani and together they shared 61 years of marriage. Born in Medford, Michael was the son of the late Antonio and Genovaffa (Scutellaro) Scalfani.

Michael worked for over thirty years as an Automotive Adjuster and also owned and operated his family business, Mi-Car Auto Body Shop of Wilmington for many years prior to his retirement. A very talented person, Michael enjoyed tinkering with cars and anything else that needed attention. He was very artistic and enjoyed drawing. He embraced technology and loved doing different things on the computer, tablet or phone. He was also an avid Boston Sports fan and would often vocalize his passion to the sport by yelling at the TV with his wife. However, his greatest joy was his family. He was the primary caretaker to his beloved wife Carol and cherished every moment with his grandchildren who were the light of his life.
Michael will fondly be remembered by his family and many dear friends for his steadfast devotion to them, his love of animals, and his "Big Heart".

In addition to his wife Carol, Michael is survived by his devoted son, Michael L. Scalfani and his wife Rita of Wilmington. He was the loving and cherished grandfather of Vincent and Sofia Scalfani. Brother of Mary Purdy, Paula Bechtold, and Adeline Faulkner and is further survived by his faithful pet dog, Pepper.

A funeral service will be conducted in the Dello Russo - Cavanaugh Family Funeral Home, 374 Main St. Wilmington, Friday, August 7th, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Services will conclude with inurnment at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions in Michael's memory may be made to MSPCA-Angell Attn: Donations, 350 South Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02130.
