James J. Healey

James J. Healey, of Burlington formerly of Newburyport passed away peacefully, July 20, 2020, at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He was 74 years of age. James was the beloved husband of Rosemary (Borin) Healey and together they shared 54 years of marriage. Born in Newburyport, James was the son of the late Daniel and Helen (Downey) Healey.

James was raised and educated in Newburyport and also attended Bentley College. For a period of time he proudly served as a Call Firefighter for the town of Newburyport. Along with his wife Rosemary, together they owned and operated Healey's Variety in Newburyport for many years. James also had a long career in Corporate Security in Boston. In his leisure time he enjoyed traveling throughout the Caribbean with friends and family, and spending time in Naples, Florida. James will be greatly missed by those he knew and loved.

In addition to his beloved wife Rosemary, James is survived by his cherished longtime family friend Holly Walton of Wilmington. He was the brother of Sister Patricia Ann Healey SCN of Kentucky, the late John and Joseph Healey. Nephew of the late, Rev. Joseph Downey and Rev. John C. Healey. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to gather at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Wednesday, July 29th, for an hour of visitation from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham, at 10 a.m. Interment services will be private. Those attending must wear a face mask and must adhere to social distancing protocols. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Jim's memory to Heaps of Hope, Inc., c/o Holly J. Walton, Matrix Financial LLC, 60 Walnut St., Wellesley, MA 02481.
