Horace B. Wildes, 102, of Dartmouth, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2020 at home. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth B. (Smith) Wildes.
Mr. Wildes was born in New Bedford, son of the late Theodore B. and Inez W. (Shaw) Wildes and had resided in Dartmouth for most of his life. Prior to his retirement, he was a dairy farmer at Whimshaw Farm, Little Compton. He was very active in the RI Farm Bureau and the American Dairy Association. Mr. Wildes was also on the Board of Agrimark Co-Op. He had attended Allen's Neck Friends Meeting, Dartmouth and following retirement, became very enthusiastic about car collecting.
Survivors include his 3 sons: Frederick W. Wildes and his wife Patricia of Manchester, CT, Peter D. Wildes and his wife Julia of OR and Stephen B. Wildes and his wife Donna of IL; a brother: Glenn Wildes of ME; a sister: Frances Wilber and her husband Paul of Little Compton; Joanne Wildes wife of brother Richard; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Merrick Wildes, Winifred Munger, Mildred Livecchi and Richard Wildes.
Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, August 8, 2020 at the Potter Funeral Home at 1:30 P.M.
Memorial visitation will be Saturday the 8th from 1-1:30 P.M., prior to the service.
Interment will be private.
