James T. “Bubba” DeStefano, 65, of Derry NH, passed away June 15, 2020, peacefully at his residence. Jim was born in Saugus, MA , September 11, 1954 and was a son of the late Vincent & Marguerite (Collins) DeStefano. He was raised and educated in North Revere, MA. Jim was the loving husband of Sharon Elizabeth (Francis) DeStefano of almost 7 years, together 17.5 years.
Jim worked at the MBTA for 25 years, Cape Ann Transit Authority in Gloucester, MA, & Bedford Charter Service in Bedford, MA. Jim enjoyed spending time outside w/ his wife & friends, 3 dogs Sparky-jo, Teddy-Williams, Ziva-noel (& Cody-James before he passed away) having a fire most days & nights, camping, watching car racing at Lee USA speedway in Lee, NH, Star Speedway in Epping, NH & Hudson Speedway in Hudson, NH, or on tv, being on a dart league in Southern NH area, going for joyrides looking at the scenery, no matter where him & Sharon went, going on vacation to North Conway, NH and the Burlington - Saint Albans Vermont area.
Jim is survived by 2 sons, James R DeStefano of Manchester, NH, Brian J. & wife Christin Lee DeStefano their 2 children Gage & Wyatt of Tewksbury, MA. Brother Robert Singer of San Jose, CA, Niece Marion Singer & her husband Cameron Lawrence of San Jose, CA, nephew Robert & Bridget Singer of San Jose, CA, nephew Christopher & Kendra Singer of Phoenix , AZ, niece Ashely McConnell & Destinee Francis of Hampstead, NH, nephew Zachary Francis who's in the United States Marine Corps, sister n law Shannon McConnell, 12 great nieces & nephews, along with many cousins, close & good friends.
After cremation, a Memorial Reception will be held Wednesday September 9, 2020 from 5 to 7 pm, at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium 15 Birch St. Derry, NH.
