Carmine Guarracino
6/16/2020

Carmine Guarracino, age 80, of Woburn, died peacefully on June 16, 2020 at Beth Israel Lahey Health Hospital in Burlington. He was surrounded by his loving family. Born in Albanella, Italy, he was one of nine children of the late Guiseppe and Maria Guarracino.

Carmine was raised and educated in Southern Italy. As a young man, he worked in construction for several years in Italy and Switzerland before immigrating to the United States in 1974. Although Carmine and his loving and devoted wife Concetta moved to the United States with their large and extended family, they kept a home in Italy where they returned to visit family when they could.

Carmine had a passion for the outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, and bird watch with his brothers and close friends. With Concetta and family by his side, Carmine enthusiastically watched soccer, made wine, cured meats, jarred tomatoes, and tended to his expansive gardens. He had an incredible work ethic. As a life-long master mason that ran his own contracting business, Carmine was always willing to use his craft to build walls, patios, and pathways for his family and friends in addition to his work in New England and beyond.

Above all else, Carmine loved spending time with his family with frequent dinners at his home and memorable trips to Cape Cod and New Hampshire. He was devoted to his children and loved spending time with his grandchildren who adored their "Nonno."

Carmine was the devoted father of Ann Marie Torres and her husband Hector of Woburn, Luigi Guarracino of Woburn, Elisa Natale and her husband Billy of Medford, Romina Comunale and her husband Michael of Woburn, Monica Healy and her husband Jim of Burlington, Joseph Guarracino and his wife Joanna of Greenland, N.H., Jack Guarracino of Woburn, Daniela McGilvray and her husband Jay of Reading, and the late Josephine Guarracino-Badger. Father-in-law of Mark Badger of Richmond, VA. Loving nonno of Kristina Sergi, Deanna and Christopher Torres, Samantha Natale, Isabella and Gabriella Comunale, Alex and Aidan Healy, Sylvia and Leonardo Guarracino, Benjamin, Andrew and Josephine McGilvray. Brother of Elisa Bastolla and husband Frank, Vincenza Frunzo and husband Antonio, Sergio Guarracino, Jack Guarracino and wife Tina, the late Luigi, Elio, Alfonso and Filiberto Guarracino.
