Obituary

KRUG, Robert F. Retired Deputy Fire Chief, Town of Dedham, of West Harwich formerly of Dedham, passed away on June 13, 2020. Beloved husband of Edna M. (McGrath) Krug. Devoted father of Kenan and his wife Kristina of Dedham, Darrin and his wife Suzanne of Ardmore, PA, and Edward and his wife Michelle of Walpole. Devoted grandfather to Kenan Jr., Katherine, Emma, and Abby. Brother of Barrie, George, Billy, Jack, and Edward Chase.

Born on Aug. 27, 1941, he attended Boston Trade School and went on to achieve a degree in Fire Science. Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army. After serving in Germany Bob moved to Wellesley working for the DPW. On May 14, 1974 he started his 25 year career with the Dedham Fire Dept. where he earned the rank of Deputy Chief.

After retiring from the Fire Dept., he worked as a Norfolk County Deputy Sheriff. He retired to West Harwich where he enjoyed his garden. He belonged to the Holy Trinity Church of Harwich and was an active member of the Elks Post #10, Boston and the Knights of Columbus in West Roxbury.

Visiting hours at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home 456 High St., Dedham, Wednesday, June 17 from 4-7pm. Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Dedham on Thursday, June 18 at 10am. Interment in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 1pm.
