Ethel Lambos

Ethel Lillian (Nilsson) Lambos of Auburn, MA passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at UMass Memorial Medical Center, University Campus. She leaves her daughter Patricia (Bullock) O’Malley with whom she lived, her son Benjamin Bullock and his wife Linda of Worcester, six grandchildren, William Tivnan and his wife Maryann, Carlene Tivnan, Theresa Kelleher and her husband Joseph, Jeremy and Daniel Bullock, Adam Bullock and his fiancée Jenna Soiles, 8 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren, her brother George Nilsson and his wife Jean of Boylston, and her sister Shirley Mondor of Auburn. She also leaves a dear co-mother-in-law of 34 years, Pauline Agazarian, with whom she shared many family experiences as well as their love of Boston sports.
She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Lambos, a grandson, James Tivnan, Jr., a brother, Rev. William Nelson, and four sisters, A. Marjorie Taylor, H. Virginia Mason, Violet Jablonski, Barbara Dionne, and her son-in-law, Philip O’Malley.
“Lillie”, as she was affectionately known, was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Conrad and Syster (Johanson) Nilsson. She graduated from Commerce High School and took classes at Salter’s Secretarial School. She worked as a lab technician at the former Astra Pharmaceutical Company. After she retired, she worked as a clerk in the fitting room at Marshall’s for many years. She was a member of the former Belmont Street Baptist Church and attended Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading, watching game shows, and eating cookies. Lillie’s grandchildren were the light of her life, and she always had a cat by her side.
Because of COVID-19 restrictions, a graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 10th at 11 a.m. at Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lillie’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org/givehope).
