| Mikola W. Baran, age 77, of Needham on May 30, 2020 due to complications of the COVID-19 virus. Vietnam War Veteran. Beloved life partner of Edith Merritt. Devoted uncle of Katherine Baran-Paiz and her husband William of Bellingham. Loving brother of the late Leon Baran of Jamaica Plain. Loving son of the late Wolodymyr and Kateryna Baran. Brother-in-Law of Beverly Ann Baran of Jamaica Plain. Nick loved to travel and had a special affinity for Hawaii. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service and enjoyed antiquing in his retirement. He was fond of the birds and animals that would visit his yard. His family would like to thank his medical professionals for their care and compassion. His family will gather for a private service on Thursday June 4 including a Requiem Divine Liturgy in Christ the King Ukrainian Catholic Church 146 Forest Hills St. Jamaica Plain at 10 AM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends will be invited to a memorial service at a future date when we can celebrate his life together. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nick's memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Be kind, be caring, as we do not always know what others may be going through and keep you and your families safe until this virus has been eradicated.
