Mary E. Donato, 101

On Sunday, May 17, 2020, Mary E. Donato, age 101, of Mansfield, formerly of Norwood, passed away peacefully at the Ellis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Norwood, MA.
Born in Boston, MA on January 12, 1919, she was the loving daughter of the late Francisco and Maria (Costa) Crisafulli and the dear sister to the late Cpl. Patrick Crisafulli of Roxbury, MA, Guy Crisafulli and Josephine Gatto of Norwood, MA.
As a young girl Mary grew up on Montrose Street in Roxbury, MA. She worked as a private seamstress at home for years before meeting and marrying Anthony Raymond Donato of Roxbury, MA. They relocated to Norwood, MA where they started their family and the town Mary would reside in for some 40 years.
She was the loving mother of the late Joseph Donato of Greenville, SC and Patrick Donato of Foxboro, MA and is survived by Sandra Fletcher of Mansfield, MA.
Mary enjoyed cooking and caring for her family, was an avid crocheter and created keepsakes that will be handed down for generations to come. Some of her fondest memories were of trips to Cape Cod and Maine, where she would play Hearts late until the night.
She will be missed by her 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, several nephews and a niece, as well as a devoted goddaughter.
Funeral services, along with burial at Highland Cemetery will be private and visiting hours are omitted.
