Nancy Clerveau
5/3/2020

Nancy Annmary Clerveau was an extraordinary grandmother and caretaker of five smart, kind, rambunctious boys who loved her dearly and are devastated by her sudden, unexpected death on Sunday afternoon, May 3rd. She spent her 65 years caring for others, giving everyone she met everything she had, with a contagious smile, big heart, and heavy hand. This tribute, being written by four of her five grandsons, with our 3-year-old cousin in mind, is our attempt to let everyone know how much she meant and how devastated we are by her passing. She is the one who swooped in when tragedy struck, who made a home for others when they didn’t have one, who only expected the best from each of us, who always tried her best to educate her children, and who, despite living through so many hardships, stayed strong for her loved ones. She was a very strong-willed person and she taught only respect and manners to her grandsons. She showed us to always face challenges with a smile and to dream big. Our grandmother was born in Boston, from Florence Blair-Parsons and Earl Parsons. She worked as a personal care assistant doing what she loved and did best: "taking care of others." She was the youngest child and had four older brothers. With the unexpected passing of her daughter, Nadine Clerveau, she stepped up to care for her grandsons, Exavion and R’Monii Clerveau, guiding them through Boston Public Schools, then Beacon Academy, and on to the Dublin School and Meridian Academy – on full academic scholarships. She also took in Ckyllel Hart, Kevin Kwenda, and Isaiah “Jacob” Fluerissanit with the highest hopes for them as well. Nancy leaves behind her oldest brother, Stephen Parsons; stepdaughters Ruth Clerveau, Jessica Clerveau, Edlyne Clerveau, and Guerlyn Kwenda; her stepson, Watson Clerveau; and her grandchildren: Junior Marcelin (18), Exavion Clerveau (17), R’monii Clerveau (16), Ckyllel Hart (14), Isaac Clerveau (13), Mya Kwenda (13), Princesse Clerveau (10), Emma “Nina” Kwenda (8), Sherrod Blount 3rd (7), Love Clerveau (7), Angelina Clerveau (5), Olive Annmaire, Prince Clerveau (3), Isaiah “Jacob” Fluerissanit (3), Grayson Clerveau (1) and countless great friends, neighbors, and admirers. She was truly a remarkable woman who left us all too soon and we will miss her dearly.
Her family will gather for a private family funeral service will be held at the Brady Fallon Funeral home: 10 Tower St, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130 on Saturday May 9th, 2020.
To honor Nancy, donations in her lovely memory can be made through Beacon Academy (tax exempt) or GoFundMe (gofundme.com/f/in-memory-of-nancy-clerveau). Gifts will initially be used to pay for services and whatever is left will help Nancy’s five young grandsons make it through this difficult transition and hopefully have money left over to put in college funds. Thank you for all of your love and support.
