Sol Angelica Figueroa
5/3/2020

Our Reina, Sol Angelica Figueroa-Ortiz Born August 26, 1950 in Fajardo, Puerto Rico and was called to her eternal home in heaven on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at her home in Norwood, MA.
Sol Angelica was a mother, a friend, a sister, a grandmother, a great grandmother and simply…Ma to so many people. FAMILY was her priority. All that she had she gave. nothing came before family. She showered those she loved (which were many) with what seemed as never-ending kisses, strong hugs, swaying you side to side as you inhaled her sweet-smelling scent.
Sol Angelica continued her education, receiving her CNA certification in Puerto Rico. She loved taking care of others and putting their needs above her own. Her body and her faith were continually put to the test, but she fought to remain with us for just a little while longer until the Lord said enough suffering, enough pain, that is enough! And He called her home.
Sol Angelica is survived by her husband Rafael Figueroa, who was her companion until the end. Her continued bond and friendship with the father of her children, Jose (Che) Echevarria, her children and grandchildren who cherished her: Beatriz Hernandez (Miguel and Jennifer, Cynthia and Lane, Jhovon), Beloved Carlos and Tricia Hernandez (Jalyssa, Sarah, and Lauren), Jorge Hernandez and Carlene O’Garro (Deyline and Ricky, Maliki and Mikala), Marisol (Mama) Echevarria (Flaca, Meisha, Bren and Taylah), Carmen (munequita negra) Echevarria and Adrian Yancey (Adri and Cam), Grizel (Chuli) Echevarria (Qwany, Oved and DaeDae). We were blessed that she enjoyed and got to spend time with her great grandchildren: Lala, Lani, Elias, Gabe, Mia, Frankie, Elijah, Elena, Elyssa, Ethan, Chris, William, Luna, Canon, Beau, and Sol.
Ma demonstrated faith in God and she led her family to do the same. She leaves behind a new beginning for all of us to carry her legacy of compassion, faith and love for family.

Her family will gather for a private family funeral service at the Brady & Fallon Funeral Home on Monday May 11, 2020. Her interment will then follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Roslindale.
