Obituary

On Sunday, April 26, 2020, Oscar Roberto Agmi, loving husband and father of four children, passed away at the age of 72.

Oscar was born on September 17, 1947 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to Andres Agmi and Carmela Gandolfo Agmi. On December 1, 1971, he married the love of his life, Dolly Lara Agmi, and together they raised four children: Mariano, Jennifer, Christopher, and Christian.

Oscar and Dolly moved their family to the United States in 1980, settling in the Bronx, NY and then Malden, MA. Oscar had an unparalleled work ethic, often juggling two full time jobs to support his family. Whether as a jewelry welder, school bus driver, security guard or maintenance man, Oscar always approached his work with enthusiasm and a meticulous attention to detail.

Oscar was a dedicated husband, an exemplary father, and a loyal friend. His friends and family will remember him for his honesty, generosity, patience, and gentle demeanor. He had a wonderful sense of humor, a warm smile and kind blue eyes that would light up any room. A lifelong soccer fan, Oscar played for Chacarita Juniors as a youth in Buenos Aires and always cheered on his beloved Argentine national futbol team and FC Barcelona. He had a love of nature, enjoying gardening and fishing. An excellent host, he was always happy to bring together family and friends for his Argentine style barbecues, sangria and legendary empanadas.

Oscar is survived by his wife, Dolly, his four children, his grandchildren Adela, Helena, Clara, Analise, Grayson and Arianny (expected in June), his sister Norma, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Contributions in Oscar’s memory may be made to the The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration.
