Harriet Lavonda Brown McNair, 86, of Valdosta, formerly of Ashburn, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her four children.

Harriet was born on January 22, 1934 in Haines City, Florida to the late Charles Russell and Lelia Arcie Yeomans Brown. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a long time resident of Ashburn and was a member of the Ashburn First Baptist Church and more recently, a member of Covenant Baptist Church in Valdosta. Harriet was involved in many church activities and loved spiritual growth. She also enjoyed crocheting, reading and spending time with her family and friends. Harriet's greatest desire was to be a light to others and to share the redeeming message of Christ's grace with everyone in her life. She was a matriarch, a prayer warrior, a southern belle who had a whimsical streak and loved to laugh.

She is survived by her daughters, Kimberlin McNair (Steve) Kincaid of Blowing Rock, North Carolina, Deborah McNair (Chuck) Sanders of Thomasville and Bonnie Lynn McNair of Valdosta; son, David Ashley McNair of Hahira; sisters, Bonnie Maxine Irby of Lakeland, Florida, Linda Kay Nettles of Cypress, Texas and Sharon Eilene Black of Auburndale, Florida; brother, David Lamar Causey of Haines City, Florida; grandchildren, Nathan William Lyon, Kristin Nicole Warren, William Ashley Fletcher, Hannah Fletcher Studstill, Amanda Kincaid Herring and George Ira Kincaid; great-grandchildren, Zeb Thomas Fletcher, Ella Elise Fletcher, Tye Willow Fletcher, Laina Shea Fletcher, Anna Blease Altepeter, Lily Marie Altepeter, Kathryn Mae Warren, Samuel David Studstill, Luella Birch Kincaid and Colette Moss Kincaid.
