Anthony J. Anzalone of Medford passed away on Monday, March 2, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Boston's North End, he was the son of the late Rafaelo and Aurelia (Contrada) Anzalone. Anthony proudly served in the army reserves from 1958 to 1964, and was the owner and operator of Tony's Barber Shop in South Medford for 35 years. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and was a wonderful singer. Anthony participated for many years in the choirs at both St. Joseph and St. Clement churches.

Anthony was the beloved husband of 61 years to Marie (Angeloni) Anzalone, and the devoted father of Stephen Anzalone and his wife Suzanne of North Hampton, NH, Susan DiFraia and her husband Michael of Malden, Maria Anzalone of Maynard, and Christopher Anzalone and his wife Ruth of Somerville. He was the loving grandfather of Amelia and Mason Anzalone, and Elizabeth DiFraia. Anthony was the dear brother of Fred Anzalone and his wife Phyllis of Boston, the late Ann Cerrone and her husband Fred, the late Angelo Anzalone, and the late Phyllis Della Piano and her husband Daniel. He was the cherished uncle of Lisa Anzalone and her husband Marco, Judy Derle and her husband Richard, Joan Cerrone and her husband Lawrence Cormier, Michael Angeloni and his wife Sherry, Paul Angeloni, Debra Angeloni Reilly and her husband Joseph, and the late Carol Ann Cerrone. Anthony is also survived by his great niece and nephew, Audrianna Angeloni and Michael Angeloni Jr.

A memorial mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, on Wednesday, March 11 at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with family from 10 through 11:30 AM in the church. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
