Angelina (LaPorta) Cartolano, of Somerville, passed away Sunday, March 1st. She was 86. Born in Augusta, Sicily, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Sebastiana (Spinali) LaPorta.

Angelina came to America in 1948, and raised 5 children while working full-time at the Stop & Shop Bakery on Causeway Street in Boston. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed entertaining family and friends and spending time at her winter home in Florida. Angelina was a loving and proud Nana to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Angelina was he beloved wife of the late Joseph P. Cartolano. She was the devoted mother of Rosemary Ruggeri, and her husband Giuseppe, Christine Traill, and her husband Dennis all of Everett, Rosario "Roy" Cartolano, and his wife Maria of Jacksonville, FL, Loretta Findlay, and her late husband James and Anthony Cartolano, of Peabody. She is also survived by 11 loving grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was the dear sister of Carmella Ternullo, Rose Bloomfield and the late Rosario and Giuseppe LaPorta. Angelina was a retired member of the Bakery and Confectionary Union and Industry.

Her funeral will be from Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Tuesday, March 10th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 5 - 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
