Mildred Ann (Mahoney) McCreedy died Monday at the Bear Hill Nursing Home in Wakefield with her beloved family by her side. She was 86.

Born in Medford, she was the daughter of the late John and Rose (Mitchell) Mahoney.

Mildred work for many years in retail in places such as K-Mart, Zayre, and Bed and Bath; but her most favorite place she worked was Cain's Potato Chip Factory and that is where she met the love of her life William G. McCreedy. Her love and devotion to her family was endless from her late husband to her grandchildren. She showed her love not only by affection but also by cooking them delicious meals. Mildred loved to host for the holidays, especially Thanksgiving. Every one of her children knew they would be going home with one of her delicious apple pies. Her skills did not stop with cooking; she was also an excellent ceramic maker, which she ended up teaching people of all ages. Mildred was a charismatic woman with whomever she met; she made them feel as if they knew her for years.

Mildred was the beloved wife of the late William G. McCreedy. She was the devoted mother of
William McCreedy Jr and his wife Virginia of Tewksbury, Daniel McCreedy and his wife Nancy of Winthrop, Sheila McCreedy of Medford, and Sandra Doucette and her husband Tony of Palm Beach Gardens She was the loving grandmother to William, Caitlin and Ashley McCreedy of Tewksbury, Daniel McCreedy of Winthrop, and Anthony Doucette of Palm Beach Gardens, FLA. She was the sister of the late Ruth Cecere, Dorothy "Dottie" Brady, John, Robert, Francis and Richard Mahoney. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway W., Medford, on Saturday, February 29 at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
