George F. Pereira

Mr. George F. Pereira, a Woburn resident for most of his life passed away peacefully, December 23, 2019 at the Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln. He was 90 years of age. He was the beloved husband of the late Agnes E. Gonsalves. Born in Woburn he was one of six sons of the late Manuel and Domingas (DeSilva) Pereira.

George was raised and educated in Portugal where he attended elementary school, high school and college. He worked for many years as a truck driver delivering fork lifts for Brodie Truck Lift. He also worked for a number of years with the Winchester Brick Co., Atlantic Gelatin and the Stoneham Shoe Shop.

George was a longtime member of the Woburn Elks and also a longtime member of the Portugese American Recreational Club where he and his “sweetheart” Agnes made many dear friends. Together they loved dancing and socializing with friends and family. Every year, George enjoyed making his home made wine that he loved to share with his family and friends. In more recent years George enjoyed and cherished spending time with his family and going out for diner. He especially loved to be surrounded by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
George will fondly be remembered for his love and devotion to his family, and his kind and gentle personality. He will be greatly missed.

George is survived by his devoted daughters; Diane Moose of Lewiston, NY and her late husband James, and Cheryl Tracy and her husband Michael of Woburn. He was the loving grandfather of Tonia Magliaro and husband David, Kylee Ryan and husband Joel, Alissa DeSimone and husband Michael, Brandon Tracy, Brandi Belair and husband Michael, and Bradford Tracy. Loving great grandfather of Ethan, Oliver, and Sophia Magliaro, Charlotte and Wesley Ryan, Ella Aggie DeSimone, Keira Ticehurst, Rory Cannon, Trey and Rhys Agnes Belair. Brother of the late Ferdinand, Norbert, Virgil, Joseph and James Pereira. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted in the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Saturday, December 28th, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
